All Forsyth-Cumming Optimist Club meetings have been cancelled for the months of March, April, May, and June due to the COVID-19 virus. Beginning in July, we will hold public Zoom meetings – watch the website for further information. Committee and Board meetings will be held via Zoom. We will announce additional cancellations in this post as we learn of them.
The District Oratorical Contest on June 6th was held via Zoom. The Area and Zone Oratorical Contests were also held via Zoom. The World Regional Championship Contest on July 15-17th in St. Louis, MO was also held via Zoom.
The Oratorical Contest Winners Luncheon scheduled for April 17th has been postponed/cancelled.
The Spring Track and Field Day scheduled for May 2nd has been cancelled.
The Rising Student Award Breakfast scheduled for May 11th has been cancelled. Students that are chosen will still be recognized and receive their awards.
The Optimist International Convention scheduled for June 27-30th in Schaumburg, IL has been cancelled.
The Scholarship Awards breakfast scheduled for July 23rd will be held via Zoom.
The Fishing Derby usually held in September has been cancelled.
As we travel these uncharted waters, we will take any precautions necessary to make sure our members and those we serve stay healthy. We apologize for any inconveniences. Stay well!
