The Forsyth-Cumming Optimists joined the Cumming community in the send-off of nearly 600 soldiers from the Georgia National Guard 3rd Battalion on Monday, Nov. 26th, as they left the Cumming Regional Readiness Center for Fort Stewart in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan. We installed 100 flags along the route between Pilgrim Mill Rd and Veterans Memorial Blvd in support of the troops as they passed by in buses. We salute our soldiers and thank them for their service!
